Life of a Traveler

My friend is constantly on the road, flying everywhere. She is not complaining because it is by choice. Her conversations thus are mostly about real estate, from Edmonton apartments for rent to places she just passes by. It is very interesting to hear her talk about the places she has been to, people she has met and adventures she has experienced.

The way she travels just sounds like a dream, never have to clean again and always being waited on. Her life sounds so exciting, it made me want to pack-up and tag a long for a few months too. But I will miss my home, I like the convenience of knowing where everything is and what I can expect every day. When I am home, I feel more in control than being on the road.

Sometimes she is on the road for a couple of months, but most of the time she never stays in one place more than a couple of weeks. You can say she does a lot of business travel, but there is definitely some personal travel as well. I don’t blame her. She is single and has no kids so traveling is an awesome life when you don’t have to worry about bills.

She has to be very flexible and adapt easily since you always have to expect the unexpected. Being on the road you must be able to improvise sometimes and accept that things can’t always go smoothly.

  1. Back when I was single my job kept me on the road a lot and I really enjoyed it. I didn't travel as much as your friend but it was still exciting.

  5. Not sure I would enjoy traveling unless it was for a short time. I am very connected with family and friends here.
