Car Repairs BEFORE Road Trips

6 comments :
Road trips are wonderful. There is something amazing in its own way about all of us packing in a car and having to sit together for hours. Even with everyone’s mind wandering off on their own with no conversations going on, I still feel the bond.

It never surprised me when dad slowed down, or pulled over to the side of the road during a road trip. It was either because he wanted to let the car cool down, or there was something wrong with the water pump. To be honest, I can’t remember a road trip that we survived with dad’s beloved car without the car breaking down somehow! Poor dad, he couldn’t let go of the old ford expedition since it given to our family from our sponsored church. He cherished it as if it was one of his children.

Looking back, I am not sure if he didn’t buy another car because he didn’t feel the family budget would allowed him to do so, or that he was infatuated with the idea of preserving the car for as long as he could with repairs and replacement of the timing belt?

Either way, it was too bad he never had the chance to buy the car he always wanted for our family. Funny though, he would visit the used car dealership every now and then and drive the sales guys crazy with his bargaining ways. I could always tell when he just came back from the used car lot. He would say out loud as if he is talking to me (kids don’t hold conversations with adults that way in my family) that the car he asked about was way over priced and it isn’t as good as the one he has! God knows. Our car needed to go to the junk yard.

Check Your Blog's Stats With Blogger Stats

11 comments :
Have you checked the Blogger dashboard lately? I did not discover the "Stats" tab until recently. It has been a few months of tracking and following, but I have come to rely on it religiously. It isn't the most comprehensive analysis of your blog, but it has some very unique abilities.

For one, the stats will show you which url, webpage, or website is sending traffic to your blog. How many times your posts are being viewed for the day, week, month and even now, which is the "immediate" state. It gives you Stats of your pages, if you have any. This is a unique option, since the pages are often the tabs on your navigation menu and it isn't a post that someone would normally search for on the web, and it is an ability which is only available through Blogger Stats.

The Stats' results are also consistent, or you could say it goes hand in hand with the new gadget option in Blogger for “Most Popular” posts. If you set it to be for the last seven days, 30 days, or all time, you can see that the Stats page not only show you the same results, but also will show you how many views the post received by week, month and all time.

I have enjoyed following the Stats pages tremendously, because it gives me an idea of what my readers are attracted to on my blog. Another nice option of Stats is the ability to see which words are being searched for your blog. It is user friendly and right to the point, which fits a busy person’s lifestyle nicely. If you use the Stats page and have tips to share please comment below.

This post is linked to Thursday Two Questions, click on the image to join the meme.
1) Do you use the Stats page?
2) Which of the options of the Stats page do you like best?

Brian Ferry - Slave To Love

3 comments :
I am going to be a bit wordy today with this post since it is Valentine's Day! Brian Ferry's music was what sealed the deal for me with SO. It was then that I kept wondering if Dating is Like a Cattle Field? I was looking for something different in the field. So to have found someone who loved Brian Ferry's music was like finding a needle in the sea. Since it wasn't the current top 40s, or even played on the radio stations, as a matter of fact it was already ancient.
I took the leap of faith, and all I knew was if he could love Brian Ferry's music, he has to be okay. And luckily, I was right.
Through the courting stage we lived Brian Ferry's music and shared many others that formed a strong bond between us. I believe music and lyrics are good indications of how someone could be emotionally, but there are certainly other signs too.

Blogger Broadcast's 300th Follower

6 comments :
I am stuck on what to say! I am late on getting this post up. I have so many excuses, but it's not about me today. It is about Blogger Broadcast's 300th follower! Debbie is my featured blogger today. So , go ahead click on her link and pay a visit, and make a friend. It's what we are here for.

My name is Debbie, I live in New Jersey and have been blogging since 2009. I started to blog when I was 40 years old and 7 weeks away from having my 2nd child. I came up with the title "No Filter Mom" because I felt like I'd been censoring myself for years. I don't know if it was the hormones or just my ripe old age, but I decided to unfilter myself and call a spade a spade.

My blog began as a journal of how miserable I was being pregnant. When I read those older posts now, I can say there was definitely no filter going on then. After baby boy #2 was born, blogging took a backseat. After about a year I started to blog again. I wasn't sure of my focus but the only thing I knew a lot about was trying to raise 2 little boys. I realized pretty quickly that whatever I was saying was common amongst most mom bloggers. We're all just muddling through, some muddling better than others of course, trying to figure out what's best for these little creatures we brought into this world.

I have just recently decided to take my blog more seriously. I've implemented a few regular weekly features - Take 10 Tuesday, Thursday's Thoughts, No Filter Friday and Weekend Window. In addition to that, I enjoy entering giveaways hosted by other mom bloggers and obtaining some freebies they post about. I also enjoy reading other mom's blogs, knowing there's another mom out there who's feeling my pain. The rest of my days are spent with my 2 little boys. I hope you take some time to check out my blog. Oh, and by the way, my blog header features a picture of my firstborn son when he was a few months old. I got lucky snapping that pic at just the right time.

I think David has the best voice of all American Idols I've seen just yet. Although the other winners might be good and successful, his voice is so lovely and professional.
